The figurines distributed by fast food outlets can often become the foundation for ornaments. I have repurposed several of these to make ornaments for our Looney Tunes tree.
I call this my "Marvin-Kaboom " ornament, which I made from the 2021 McDonald's figurine from the re-make of Spaceballs. I didn't want the basketball theme, so I made some adaptations.
To make him, I removed the basketball and replaced it with a barrel made from an electrical cap. Then I added a 1.5" button featuring Marvin's famous saying. He looks great on our Looney Tunes tree!
This is another of the Spacejam figures from 2021. Once again I pried off the basketball and replaced it with a dangling Christmas bauble. Then I draped a string of Christmas lights around the Roadrunner and added a beaded link so I could hang him on the tree.
With a couple of little adjustments, this Sylvester and Tweetie from the mid-1990s made a terrific ornament for my Looney Tunes tree!
I molded a Santa hat for Tweetie, painted holly motifs on the side of the plane, and gave Sylvester a string of fused beads to hold. I added a wire loop for hanging -- the wire can be pushed directly into the soft plastic of the figurine. They're off to decorate a tree someplace!
When I found my Daffy figurine in a thrift store in the 1990s, he was missing his little car, but I thought I could make an ornament out of the figure by itself anyway. I dug out some craft wire and some Christmas light beads and got to work with Goop to glue the beads in place.
DH suggested painting the wire green. I like this "Daffy Lightbulbs" ornament, which has been on our tree now for nearly 20 years.
This Marvin came from the toys released after the first Spacejam movie. I removed the basketball and replaced it with a world globe, originally part of a keychain that I had in my stash.
Marvin standing on top of the world just seemed appropriate to me somehow.
These figurines weren't actually fast food premiums, but they made good ornaments all the same, and without any adjustments.
All I had to do in each case was to push a wire loop into the soft plastic to give me somewhere to attach a hook for hanging.
